Development History

  • In 2002, Mark Humayun invited Professor Yu-Chong Tai, Professor Robert Grubbs and others to join the R&D of a new generation of intelligent retina, forming a world-class R&D team.
  • In 2005, Professor Robert Grubbs, a key member of the new generation of intelligent retina R&D team, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
  • Professor Mark was awarded the U.S. National Medal of Technology and Innovation by the then President Barack Obama.
  • In April 2017, a delegation of the Hunan Provincial People's Government visited the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) to invite the "U.S. New Generation Intelligent Retina Project" to settle in Hunan, and exchanged views on project cooperation. On December 18, 2017, Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and Golden Eye Bionics, LLC held a signing ceremony for the new generation intelligent retina project, and the project was officially settled in Changsha, China, which will be dedicated to the industrialization of the new generation intelligent retina products and bring good news to the blind in China and even around the world.
  • On March 26, 2018, IntelliMicro Medical Co., Ltd. was officially established in Changsha, China, to take full responsibility for the R&D, production and operation of the new generation” On March 26, 2018 of intelligent retina project.
  • In February 2019, the construction of the GLP laboratory for the new-generation intelligent retina project was completed.
  • In August, IntelliMicro successfully completed the world's first human clinical research sugery of "IMIE Intelligent Vision Implant" in Changsha, China.
  • In March 2021, "IMIE" project passed the special approval of innovative medical devices by the National Medical Products Administration.
  • In 2022, the clinical trial of the "IMIE" project was officially launched.
  • In December 2023, the rebound tonometer project was approved with the registrtion certificate and the production license.
