On November 7, the Information Office of Hunan Provincial People’s Government held a press conference in Changsha on the Implementation Plan of Hunan Province for Carrying Out the State Council’s “AI+” Initiative. The press conference unveiled the “Five Tens” list for the “AI+” initiative.
The “Five Tens” list specifically includes ten key enterprises, ten demonstration scenarios, ten future scenarios, ten key science and technology innovation platforms (first batch), and ten support measures. According to the introduction, the implementation of the “AI+” initiative in Hunan is driven by both supply and demand. On the supply side, the “Ten Key Enterprises” (market entities of technological innovation and “pioneers” of industrial development) and the “Ten Key Science and Technology Innovation Platforms” (hubs of fundamental research and generic technologies) jointly build a solid industrial “supply pool”. On the demand side, the “Ten Demonstration Scenarios” focus on the present, concentrating on applications with mature technologies and significant results to create “testing fields” and “showcases”, aiming for a scaling effect of “from pilot to scale-up”. Meanwhile, the “Ten Future Scenarios” are geared towards tomorrow, targeting forward-looking and disruptive fields such as brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and AIGC, so as to carve out new tracks for Hunan in the next round of science and technology competition. According to the Implementation Plan, Hunan will follow the steps of “making breakthroughs in two years, delivering tangible results in five years, and establishing a leading position within ten years” to strive for the comprehensive development of a nationally first-class AI innovation hub, industrial cluster, and application demonstration base by 2035, ushering in a new phase of intelligent economy and intelligent society.
