On the morning of May 17th, IntelliMicro Medical Co., Ltd. welcomed a special group of young guests—over 30 elementary school students from Changsha Baixi Second Primary School gathered at the Company to embark on an intriguing journey of exploration in ophthalmology. This science popularization and open day aimed to popularize knowledge about eye care to the children, convey concepts of preventing high intraocular pressure (IOP) and glaucoma, and help children establish a correct awareness of eye protection from an early age.
At the beginning of the event, IntelliMicro’s professional lecturer engagingly explained the structure of the eye, the harm of high intraocular pressure, and the importance of using eyes scientifically. Through easy-to-understand animation demonstration and video explanation, the ophthalmology knowledge was conveyed in a simplified manner, enabling the children to not only understand the early signs of high IOP and glaucoma but also learn how to protect their eyesight through healthy habits of using eyes.
During the Q&A session, the children eagerly answered questions, while the young visitors also took the initiative to ask questions, the playful interactions added a unique touch to the science popularization activity: “Why do my eyes hurt after looking at the phone for a long time?” “Can high eye pressure lead to blindness?” ... The company’s professional lecturer patiently answered each question and emphasized that reducing screen time of electronic products, engaging in outdoor activities, and regular intraocular pressure checks are the three keys for eye protection. The children gained practical eye care knowledge in a lively and relaxed environment.
Subsequently, to provide the children with a more intuitive experience of the power of technology, IntelliMicro arranged on-site IOP measurement experiences. The children lined up in an orderly manner to use the IntelliMicro “rebound tonometer” under the guidance of professionals to complete their first IOP test. “It turns out measuring eye pressure doesn’t hurt at all!” “My eye pressure is normal!” The children excitedly shared their experiences and gained a new and intuitive understanding of ophthalmic examinations, personally experiencing the changes that scientific and technological innovation brings to healthy living. They also enthusiastically toured the Company’s GMP production workshop, where advanced production workshops, precise instruments, and strict quality control processes allowed them to closely observe how medical devices transformed from R&D to production and application.
The visual health of young people is pivotal to the future of the country and the nation. As a company focused on high-tech innovations in ophthalmology, IntelliMicro always practices the development philosophy of “Microtechnology Innovates Future”, while continuously promoting scientific and technological innovation and actively fulfilling its responsibility for science popularization education. In the future, the Company will continue to carry out public welfare science popularization activities, constructing innovative bridges through science promotion, making science and technology warmer, and contributing to the “Healthy China” strategy.
